Kluane Wilderness Lodge

Set on the edge of Wellesley Lake, this rustic, comfortable lodge can accommodate 18 guests in twin-bedded cabins with shower and bathroom facilities.

The main lodge has a large dining room, lounge and store (with an excellent stock of flies and lures). The kitchen is always open. Meals are served family style, although guests often opt for shore lunches. This is the lodge for trophy lake trout.

Accommodation is Saturday to Saturday.

Activities

Angling, canoeing, walking (from riverside rambles to energetic mountain hikes), wildlife watching and photographic safaris. There are magnificent moose and black bears (look out for ‘Bart’, a 700 lb black bear).

Fishing
Lake trout to 60 pounds on dry or wet fly during June and early July and in September. At other times they respond to trolling in deeper water.

Northern pike to 35 pounds on the fly or spinning.

Tackle

7/8 fly rod for pike and lake trout, with 6 to 15lb leaders, 20lb wire for pike. Medium spinning rod (8-9 feet) for both species. Suitable flies and lures are available at the lodge.
